What are semi permanent makeup eyebrows?

Our semi permanent makeup brow treatment involves applying an industry-regulated pigment to the dermal layer of the skin. The result is a long-lasting color that resembles softly applied brow makeup (powder brows.) Alternatively, you can opt for microblading, which involves using a handheld blade to deposit pigment onto the dermal layer of the skin, mimicking natural featherweight hair strokes. Who can benefit from semi permanent makeup?

Anyone and everyone! Semi permanent makeup is a great way to enhance your natural beauty, save time in the morning and gain more confidence in your appearance. Semi permanent makeup benefits those who:

• Don't have a lot of time to get ready in the morning

• Don't enjoy applying brow makeup or find it difficult

• Swim, gym & play sport

• Have sparse hair growth or over plucked brows that need more shape

• Have experienced hair loss as a result of a medical condition or treatment

• Just want to enhance their best features & feel great!

Am I suitable for semi permanent makeup treatments?

Most people are suitable for some sort of semi permanent makeup treatment. However, if you have any pre-existing medical or skin conditions or you take medication, please let us know before booking an appointment so we can assess whether you’ll be suitable for treatment. We’d also recommend seeking professional medical advice from your doctor.

 

If you are pregnant, we will not be able to perform microblading or semi permanent makeup treatments on you until after your baby is born. This is a safety precaution and will ensure you get better results for your money, as our skin can react differently to pigments in pregnancy.

How long does semi permanent makeup take?

It depends on the treatment/s but usually 2 - 3 hours.

 

How long do semi permanent makeup results last?

Results vary from one person to the next as our skin is different. It also depends on environmental factors & the aftercare of your brows or lips too. Generally speaking, microblading can last 18 months+, powder brows can last 2 - 4 years and lip blush can last 18 months - 2 years. You’ll likely need a color boost in between to maintain your brows or lips.

How many semi permanent makeup treatments will I need?

It all comes down to your skin type, how well the pigment settles and the aftercare of the initial treatment. Some clients only need one appointment but it’s quite normal to have a second ‘top up’ appointment. This allows any adjustments to be made to the eyebrows to perfect the shape and color.

 

Does semi permanent makeup hurt?

It’s difficult to say as everyone has a different threshold of pain. However, our clients often report that the tweezing during the eyebrow tidy up is more uncomfortable than the actual treatment! The majority of clients say microblading or semi permanent makeup is ‘not as bad as they were expecting.’ With the client’s permission, a topical anesthetic is used to numb the area, minimizing discomfort.

 

Can blondes have semi permanent brows?

Of course! Many fair haired people worry that semi permanent makeup or microbladed brows will look too dark and unnatural but this simply isn’t the case. We can mix the perfect pigment shade to match blonde and red hair too.

 

What we will say is that sometimes the pigment color will appear much darker a few days after your semi permanent makeup treatment. This is completely normal and the same no matter your hair color! Wait a few days for the pigment to settle into your skin & you’ll be amazed at how beautiful your brows look.
